Welcome from the East Coast. SF bay area is one of favorite places in the world. Probably the most perfect weather on the planet. Unfortunately, stands may be a necessity as those large redwoods are just too big for 15' straps. Golden Gate Park is probably the most amazing park in the USA. That would be an awesome place to hang if it was allowed.

hi there tyroler! can't agree with you more, perfect weather indeed! though it comes at a price, as we have been in severe drought for several years. still, i'm happy to enjoy the sunny days and mud free camping haha!

may have to look into some creative solutions for bigger trees, maybe daisy chain a few straps together

oh! and i see you are based in waldorf! i lived in columbia/ellicott city for many years, and have family that live near fredericksburg now. would love to do some summer camping in shenandoah national park sometime!

Maybe 30' huggers, with whoopie slings and dutch hook?

Welcome. I’d love to hear how you make out with the hammock. My wife is planning to visit a friend next year in your area and I was thinking of joining to do some hiking. I may have to hit you up for some suggestions.

oh absolutely tessiea! it's a big state, with so many opportunities for great outdoor experiences! even if you're staying in and around the city, i have plenty of suggestions for good day hiking
