Connecting an ENO directly to tree strap using carabiner

I just bought an ENO Singlenest, but don't want to use the SlapStraps that came with it. I have webbing from Warbonnet for tree straps. I can't get Whoopie Slings yet due to lack of funds, but I had a thought on connecting the ENO to the tree straps by just using a carabiner through a Marlin Spike Hitch. Would this hold in this manner?

Yes, the Marlin hitch w/ the biner as the spike will hold.
