Looks great! I like how you explained this part:

But there was always a drawback with head-to-toe baffling…With such long baffles the down can more easily shift during the stuffing/unstuffing process requiring more effort from the user to fluff and distribute the down compared to other designs.

I mentioned this several times around the forum but no one seemed to listen or care. I'm a firm believer that horizontal baffles, or the new design you did, are superior to vertical (long ones head to toe) for the reasons you give. Everyone should read that entire description on your page; very well written and thought out.

Good stuff...I wish I were in the market for another quilt!

If you’re gonna primarily use on the ground, definitely get the Katabatic. They have the best ground attachment system on the market (IMHO). If not, the Palisade (the one I had) is overkill. I sold mine since 90% of the time, I hammock camp, couldn’t justify having such an expensive piece of gear sitting in my closet. Also, regarding temp ratings, the Palisade is as warm as most 20 degree quilts, without having to overstuff.

The compound taper sounds like a good idea. Is the sewn foot box fully insulated with no sewn though seams? Any reason for not putting draft collars as an upgrade? Looks like a fine quilt design!

There are no sewn thru seams not even the 50 deg
Where would you want a draft collar? Head end? The drawcord seals around your neck adequately without one i think

What manufacturers are offering that option?

I believe UGQ Bandits have neckline draft collar as an option. Loco Libre TQ's also. Agree that it's not really needed though.

I have a feeling that would be a "wish I had this years ago" feature. But I try to ignore it even exists, because I just can't get into any more new gear!!

This is an opportunity for some cottage manufacturer to start cranking out 10D 950 FP down scarves.
