Question What to Get for my Second Hammock?

Morning everyone!! So currently my only hammock is an SLD Trail Lair. Fantastic hammock! I am now wanting to maybe add a second one. Not sure what one to get. I like the 11' size. Also I am 6' and about 220 lbs. Have been considering the following:

    Warbonnet Eldorado
    Dutch Chameleon
    Dream Raven

Any others I should consider?? If so, why?
    Regards,

I don't have a specific recommendation. My advice would be to get a hammock that is significantly different from the one you have. For example, I've had hammocks made from stretchy material and from stiff material. I found I like the stiff materials. I've also tried wide and narrow hammocks; I prefer the narrow ones.

Not a bad idea. My goto hammocks are:

Netted: Warbonnet Blackbird Single Layer 1.6
    Netless: Dutchware 10.5' Argon 1.6

I use the netless 90% of the time since I don't do much summer camping. And it's just so much nicer having the openness, lighter weight, simplicity, etc.

Maybe consider a luxury bridge hammock from Just Bill.

I have the Raven, and it's fantastic! It's well-priced, very modular, and super comfortable. I also like that it offers good visibility for a gathered-end hammock. The way the netting is designed, it allows the hammock to spread out really well.

Another hammock that looks interesting to me is the Sheltowee 1/2 Shell Zip. Spiguyver did a review on it a while back, and gave it good marks.

Get a different material as mentioned. Hexon 1.6 or robic 1.7. Or if weight isnt a concern, I still really like table cloth material and you get get seriously big with this fabric. Like 13x7 foot. Awesome for back yards.
Try a basic gathered end. I really like my sld trail runner (make sure to get a peak loft!). Or make a diy, they are pretty simple.

Or be more adventurous and look at bridges from either bill or diy/hiker dad style. Rsbtr and dutch both have kits.

Overall, I'd suggest a diy in your choice of fabric.

Being I weigh 220 lbs. it seems I only have a handful of fabrics I can choose without fear of failure because I am a bit on the larger size adult scale.

@OP - depends on what you want, but agreed with the notion that you might try something significantly different, and this is a great suggestion. Or maybe just try a cheap netless from any number of folks.

The suggestions for what you're looking at are all similar to your Trail Lair, so all good for those if you're looking for something NOT significantly different.

p.s. depending on what you have for under insulation, the Sheltowee is another great suggestion.

It seems that when comparisons come up, it's more common for the Chameleon to be compared to the WB BB XLC and the DH Sparrow. Just sayin'...

I agree with getting something a bit different than what you have but, if you already have a feel (no pun intended) for the general type of fabric that you like best in terms of texture and stretchiness, I wouldn't stray far from those characteristics.

I agree as well. It depends also on what you want if for. I currently have a Half-wit as an overall. I just got a Chameleon for winter. And my next one will be a stripped down/go fast hammock for times that I’m hiking with a high mileage group I sometimes go out with.

Mix it up and try something different. Any of the cottage vendors will resell if it doesn’t fit your taste.
