    Twin Needles DIY sewing

Does anyone have a good source of twin needles?

Also what sizes do you prefer for DIY projects? 3 or 4 mm?

    Twin needles

I know this sounds like a duh question but are you getting twin needles to aid you in double stitching or is it for decorative stitching? For home machines, twin needles are more for the latter than the former.

Twin needles, man, I can't get one to listen to me, let alone two.

Sewing supply stores, or online sewing centers. If your serious? And is your machine set up to run two of everything? bobbin, threads? and horsepower?

Twin needles to aid in double stitching, only on non structure seams like snakeskins

Only one bobbin but seems to work OK.

I don't think I would use it on structural seams on tarps or Hammocks as only 1 bottom thread, but maybe it would work.

Double needle stitching on a home machine is for decorative purposes only. I wouldn't even use it for non-structural seams. The one bobbin thread makes it inherently less stable and mor prone to breaking. Double stitching is really nothing more than tacking the flap of the hem or seam down to avoid it getting caught. It adds a wee bit of structural strength but it's main purpose is utilitarian. Learn to sew straight lines and you can do the same thing without the downside of the one bobbin thread.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

"Bless you child, when you set out to thread a needle don't hold the thread still and fetch the needle up to it; hold the needle still and poke the thread at it; that's the way a woman most always does, but a man always does t'other way."
