    Woah boy!

After three straight days of looking I pulled the trigger on my first hammock!

I got an SLD trail lair. Dutchware beetle suspension with a spreader bar, a arrowhead underquilt, and a nice tarp from SLD...

Going to hang a hammock my kids got from the scout shop next to me. Will let the older two spend one night each.

Weather forecast for dec 7th kid low 30ís! Going to be cold for us down here in Houston. Was going to also bring our nice sleeping bags as well.

I never sleep the first night of a campout. Second night I collapse from exhaustion. Hereís to a warm good night sleep in my new hammock!

Sounds like you got some nice gear! I'm sure you'll have many enjoyable nights from the hammock.

Welcome to the world of hammocking!! I spent about 15 years sleeping in a tent on scouting camp outs with mixed sleeping results. Once I started using a hammock, I have never had a bad night sleep and I get up more refreshed.

That is what I am hoping for. I am a cubmaster of a large pack. I can't afford to keep waking up on Saturday morning with 1 hour of sleep. Just makes my day miserable. I have many years of scouting ahead of me, so trying to solve this sleep issue now!

    Jeremy,

Welcome. Good on you for mentoring kids on the outdoors also.

    Happy Hammocking.
