    2 Day Overnighter near Nashville

    Hey All,

I am helping my oldest move to Nashville The 14th of December and I am looking for a 2 day backpacking hammock trip

I will need to be able to end near a bus or train depot a cab or uber ride away since I will not have a vehicle
    Driving U-Haul down from Chicago

I will have Saturday Sunday and Monday return to work on Tuesday

Any ideas and suggestions will be appreciated

The transportation hub near the end limits most hiking destinations in my experience unless it's like the Appalachian trail that goes through towns.

    Fall Creek Falls.

I did an overnight there last month and then drove to Nashville the next morning.

    It's about 2 hours away.

    Turn the cheesy music down.

This guy wants to end near transportation. I'm not sure he'll want to UBER from FCF to Nashville If he does I'll drive.

Well Spencer, TN looks like his closest option.

    Montgomery Bell State Park.

    Long Hunter State Park.

Both near Nashville, if that's what you're after. No trains, but was (last I knew) "MegaBus"-style bus to Chicago.

Happy to discuss by phone if you like.

Check the state park website about camping at Montgomery Bell - I think you HAVE to stay in the shelter - no tent or hammock option. I have no direct experience there, just remember reading it while researching a close place to get out for an overnighter.
Someone that's been there may correct me if I'm wrong.

No tenting, but they are happy for you to hammock at the shelter you reserve. Have done it many times.
