    Winter pack explosion

Heading out soon for my first winter excursion of the season and took some photos of my preparation.

The temps this weekend will be mild with forecast of 10c / 1c, partly cloudy, very low chance of rain. Plan is camp one night somewhere between 1100-1400m. I’m gonna take it easy as I just got over a cold/fever but will give me an excuse and much needed opportunity for shirking.

HG Incubator 20 UQ (w/ 2oz over fill)
    OWL 15 TQ (w/ 2oz over fill)
    UQ protector by 2QZQ

Dream Hammock Sparrow w/ top cover and gear sling; Cuben tarp w/ doors; Cinch buckles suspensions; Miscellaneous cordage; Tent stakes

Food, cook kit, water containers, Aqua Mira

Ditty bag ; Electronics; Chest pack; Toiletries

SWD 40l pack; Z-lite cut down to 3/4; Trekking poles

Winter wearable... always spend the most time on this. Will probably change something
... and I just did and added a shemagh.

Night wear. I like to change my insoles at camp (with those pair of fluffy things). With a new pair of socks, I’m usually toasty. If it’s really cold, I will add a layer of reflectix.

    All packed up!

Little less than 9kg. Not sure if that is good or bad.

Salomon shoes. I choose you Quest4D.

Some other stuff I bring from time to time depending on the weather and terrain.

Tip if taking public transit especially in Japan. These wipes mask the toxic stench that I know I generate even after a day on the trails.

    I don't see a rain/wind layer.

Forecast calls for no rain. The MontBell Thermawrap is more than capable to shed wind and can keep warm when wet. Will be wearing snow resistant pants plus bringing rain skirt that I forgot to mention (I’ll use it more as ground mat as pictured). Will check weather one more time before leaving and will end up changing something else.

Thanks for sharing. This is good for helping to visualize my own pack load. I'm impressed you got that all into a 40l pack, but then, I've got a lot of work to do to get my pack size down.

Out of curiosity, how much did the Pack-It Gourmet cost to have shipped to Japan?

Costs an arm in the US, so probably a leg as well for Japan!

Is that a 40L or a 50L SWD pack? Looks like it's dialed in... good job getting it all in there.
