Placed the Order for My First Hammock

I finally finished asking questions of all the very helpful vendors and placed the order. I'm going with the SLD Trail Lair to match my daughter's Micro Lair. That was my initial inclination but today I pulled the trigger.

It is 11' with a double layer of Hexon 1.6, Moroccan Blue on the outer layer and Charcoal on the inside. It has an Amsteel fixed ridgeline, continuous loops, underquilt hooks, and D-ring tie outs. Jared is modifying the bug net zipper so that I can add a winter top in the future if desired without sending it back to him and also adding rings to connect the wall shelf should I choose to add that option in the future.

I'm really happy with my choices. I'm ending up with a very modular system by a guy that is so easy to work with and communicate with that will hold a big guy like me, hopefully in comfort.

My daughter is coming over this weekend to celebrate Christmas so she will get to try out her Micro Lair on Saturday. Then I have about a week or so to build a stand for me and when she comes back for Christmas break we can hang together in our "matching" hammocks. Hopefully this will be the start of a new tradition/activity we can enjoy together for years to come.

You are going to love the Trail Lair. The winter cover is one of my favorite features. It makes winter camping so much better. Especially living in Illinois.

Enjoy camping with your daughter as much as you can. I have great memories of past trips with my kids.

You made some excellent choices. I think you'll find the Trail Lair to be very comfortable. I like the modularity you had built in from the start.

Yay!! And I have a Trail Lair in exactly the same colors! It’s beautiful and the hexon fabric is so comfortable. I’m sure you will love it. Congrats.
