    California Group Hang in 2019?

So that we've got time to find a place and allow for people to make plans - Would anyone be interested in a group hang in 2019? If so maybe a few of us can collectively find a place for this to happen. I'm in the central valley (near Modesto to get a general idea) and it would be worth it for me personally to drive up north a few hours to do this. I'm not entirely sure what's available in the Humbult / Blue Lake / etc area's but I know it's pretty country up there and I would imagine not lacking in trees to hang from.

Has anyone been to any of the other group hangs? I'm not sure who organizes the frozen butt hangs, but I'd be curious to see if there's a thread on it somewhere on here regarding the issues involved in organizing something like this.

Look in March for a SoCal hang. Not sure exactly how many years its been going, but I’ve gone 3 times in the last 5 years to the group camp near BlueJay on Orange County.

I’d drive North from Carlsbad for another CA group hang, especially in the mountains in the summer or fall.

    Sweet!

I'm going to start (when I have a free minute, doesn't happen often) looking into northern area places to maybe do a hang, here's hoping

i'm totally down for a norcal hang! i'm a bit frazzled at the moment, one of my favorite camping spots burned down this summer in the donnell fire haven't gone up there to see how bad the damage was yet... sigh, seems like this is how it's going to be now.

i'd be game for anywhere in the sierras, from sierra nf to tahoe nf. or even humbolt though i'm not sure what the regulations are for hammock camping in state parks.

I assume you're talking about Clarks Fork? I live "nearby" and can check it out (though as I type this, they're closing the roads for the current winter storm). If you recall, they kept a pretty aggressive barrier around the campsite to keep fires from getting out. When the Donnell fire cooked that area, I actually think the barrier kept the campsite intact.

i'm not a facebook user, anyone able to share info about the organized NorCal hammock hang? i'd love to meet up with other hammock'ers, all of my friend are ground dwellers.

i'm from sacramento, but willing to travel a few hours north, or even south into central california. i'm also game for a snowy winter hang if anyone is interested.

hi there adabiviak! clarks fork is indeed the place. i did monitor on the fire map and saw that they did manage to defend the camp ground, which was a miracle! however, i am very worried about the carson iceberg wilderness area which is also loved to hike in. whenever you get a chance, i would love to hear an update.
