    Agreed...

The SLS isn't the most flexible option... I use it only when going UL. And I use it only with the Asym since my other tarps are 12'. How tight you can get the tarp to the hammock is governed by the tarp ridge length. You can go as high as your trees will allow, and that's where the prussik helps to tension the tarp, but only as low as the tarp ridge length will allow. That's where the multiple ridge tie outs on the Asym help. The shortest combination of tie outs on my Asym give me a 10' ridge length and a good deal of side coverage. The tarp is about two inches above the hammock SRL.

My inspiration for the SLS came from Jaxx...

In the video water can run down the exposed dog bone and into the hammock. It needs a water break or drip line. If the continuous loop was put back on the hammock and the dog bone on the cinch buckle then the Dutch clip to join them will be closer to the hammock and hopefully no longer exposed.

Can't comment on how well Jaxx's setup works, but I was in a storm about two weeks ago and didn't have an issue..I slept through it so can't say for sure, but I suspect the little handle loop, and dangling excess Kevlar strap, acted as the water break.
