Santa was good to me this year.

Having a 12' hammock has it's comfort advantages but it takes a BIG tarp to get full coverage on it even with a SRL. I've been using a 10' tarp and, although I could squeeze most of it under it, I always had just a little bit sticking out. Luckily I never ran into any really bad storms while using the 10 footer. Santa was nice enough to bring me a 12'x10' Monster Fly Tarp in silpoly so the weight gain of the extra 2' is only a matter of grams. I think down the road I'll try out some pole mods but for now this should keep me dry without worrying too much.

Bring on the rain, I'm ready to test this thing out!
