Wow, what views! I bet it's hard to take a BAD photo anywhere up there. That's absolutely gorgeous.
"...the height of hammock snobbery!"
Powerful looking backwoods up your way.
So, no snow for you either.

Thank you Alt Thomas!
Thank for checking it out.
On that day, your right, it would've been hard to take a bad photo. And when it's clear, it's also amazing.
Yes power in the lava flows in-between the stratovolcanoes. and around the shield volcanos and the tuyas. In part two I name some of the shields and tuyas. The snow, yes that area is covered in snow currently. The trip was mid September, I didn't mention that. It's been taking me months to make these. I think there is two or three more trips from 2018 that I have started editing.
I did put up part two it is on the first post at the bottom. Thanks.

Aw thanks. Yea I get a little teary eyed watching that trip, Sadie had to hang up her backpack after this past season for retirement. She's still with us and enjoying short (mile or so) day hikes and sitting in the yard watching the forest around her. However she's been my (and then my wife's) constant backpacking / hiking companion for 13 years and the most gentle/happy dog I've ever known. Aye, I don't know why Granite Gear stopped making those dog packs, they're great packs, her's is almost as old as she is. I've heard good things about Ruffwear though. I hadn't heard of the Wolfpack packs they don't look bad at all.
Once you're lost in twilight's blue, you don't find your way, the way finds you.
Absolutely beautiful. And those trees.... A Bob Ross painting for sure.
Nothing like that here. It sure is a wonderful place to take a stroll.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
Beautiful country for sure

Gorgeous pics He Who Walks In The Rain. Looks like some worthy pooches for company. Part Catahoula or Heeler?
I've managed to cross paths at close range with mountain lion family groups on kills a couple of times, once while day hiking off trail at home in BZN, MT and once when 'taking my skiis for a walk' near Lander WY. Startled the begessus out of me as I thought I was going to be dessert, but it appears they thought the same. I've also meet some solitary lions while hunting or working. Plus, having the opportunity on several occasions to go with friends while their hounds tree lions. The scariest was turning back on my tracks while out hunting and finding a lion on my tracks (and the deer I was tracking) less than a hundred yards behind me. I easily could have been ambushed that day.
