I will bring some firewood if there are fire rings. Currently looks that i can arrive Friday.
You mentioned bringing a telescope -- usually the stargazing works out better for casual observing using binoculars and a tripod, so I'll bring that along. My observing memory is really rusty since moving from the Arizona desert.
As for Saturday daytime, anybody else coming who's a kayak fisherman? I'd stay out the salt water and stick to the local freshwater lakes (probably Campbell or Erie) in this area unless there's someone else to buddy with who's very familiar with the currents and fishing regulations in the area. I get confused about those area boundaries. Of course there are plenty of other things to do as well.
For fishing, canoeing, kayaking there is 2 lakes nearby. We are about 100 feet to Cranberry lake. I think it is a fairly brackish lake, but I have seen people fishing there. On the other side of the bridge is Pass lake and it is a good fish lake and if you can get out in a boat or float tube i bet the flyfishing would be awesome. The tides do produce some incredible currents under the bridge so be super experienced at kayaking, but it is a favorite for tidal whitewatering. But at slack you can mosey around fairly nicely, just stay aware.

Hope this works!
Pass Lake: “This trophy fly-fishing only, catch-and-release-only lake has a boat launch, but use of motors is prohibited.”
Lake Erie is CLOSED until the Saturday before Memorial Day.
I will need to do more investigating of Lake Campbell before I decide to bring the fishing yak.
Do we need a Forest Pass or to pay extra car fees? I'm figuring out my budget that would include 500+ miles of gas.
I'm new to hammock camping (only spent 3 nights in it so far) and group hangs, but I grew up on Whidbey Island. So I'm trying to convince myself that this event is doable.
Would anyone on the I-5 corridor want a ride for a share of gas costs?
My son and I will be travelling up from Corvallis on Friday. Rideshare?

I have created a Google spreadsheet for this event. This worked really well for the Yeti Hang in January. Please give it a go and let me know if you can get into it.
HF name, number in your party, ETA, Saturday night potluck item.

I signed in on the sheet. May bring the 6yo pup (a Springer Spaniel) if there are no objections.
