50 miles on the App Trail starting in Hamburg PA

    Hey everyone,

I'll be home for spring break with a few of my buddies who will be doing 50 miles on the A.T. starting at the fire tower off 61 and going north. We'll probably be leaving this coming Monday (03/08/10) around 10 in the morning, and finishing up late Wednesday night.

Let me know if you're interested in coming along.

Nice...I used to live in Lebanon and hiked the Pinnacle area quite a bit. Love that section! Wish I could come. Enjoy!

Since you guys are so local might well tell ya March 20 a pretty large group of us do an overnight down at the Hertlein Campsite off Rt 183 outside of Strausstown. There 4 in my group, only two of us hang, but the sites get pretty full that weekend every year.

Nice hike if I remember correctly. A tad early for blueberries though. Have fun!

Hey guys, click the picture if you'd like to see my album from the trip. Overall the weather was amazing! It was a bit cold at night but it was about 55* during the day, perfect for hiking. Unfortunately about 10 miles in we hit snow drifts that went up to my thighs and we eventually just stopped and camped on a pile of boulders and headed back the next morning. Overall not a bad trip, in a few weeks when all the snow melts it should be spectacular.
