Spoke with that Park Manager the other day. He has put me in touch with his volunteer coordinator.

They will have specific projects for us. All of them relate to the area we are staying in.

I will post when more details come to light.

It's awesome seeing folks sign up! It's going to be a great hang. If anyone is on the fence because of lack of gear or whatnot, I do have some spare set ups I can bring. If anyone is on the fence because of the work, well..it won't be that bad. I'm a lazy bugger and I survive.

Looks like grandson #2 will be coming with me. He’s 10.
I may need to borrow some gear - I’ve got a hammock and suspension for him.
Insulation-wise I’ve got a 0* HG Econ Incubator, a 15* down sleeping bag, some CDTs, a Snugpak hammock cocoon, a 20* LL Habanero UQ and Ghost Pepper TQ, and some sleeping pads - so I’m thinking we should be OK for insulation.
I’ve only got one tarp - a Chill Gorilla Fortress that I need to seam seal yet since it leaked over Thanksgiving.

It will be Will’s first time hammock camping - so I really want to make this enjoyable for him.

    Hey everyone!

I was able to get some more details about the work that this park needs help with so I thought I would pass it along now.

Installation of camp pads (see photo of the ones that YCC installed last summer)

We will continue to build the group campsites by installing camp pads, demolition of some old shelters, installing campfire pads, rings lantern posts and site prep.

There are currently lots of sticks that need to be picked up in this area due to storms that came through over the past few months. We should have no problems setting up the campfire TV.

May I bring my well behaved Schnauzer? If so, I can come...probably Saturday AM, possibly Friday, but I hate setting up in the dark. The drive is very far for me...3.5 hours plus, so I am a maybe at this point.

That won't be an issue. I have extra tarps...especially for a fellow Delawarean!
