I’m getting set to head out within the hour. Just a warning, it’s going to be windy as crap overnight. Pack accordingly. See everyone there. I should get there around 1ish. My cell is on the spreadsheet if anyone has issues.

A great time was had by all this weekend. Good weather, mostly-great weather, and we did a lot to help out the park. We had a grand total of 20 folks from all ages and walks of life brave the storm fronts Friday to come out and join us. Admittedly, the camping was a bit...cozy. The group areas are still an area of constant flux as park is Virginia's newest and more feral state park. When/if we return in the future, look for a limit on the number of folks we can fit (unless folks bring artificial trees).
After a delicious breakfast, it was time to head out to help the park! For our part of the work, we were tasked to assist the park with some trail building. We focused on a roughly 300ft section of a still-being-developed trail creating the back slope (uphill side of trail), clearing out the countless roots, vines, and stumps from the trail proper, and tamping the trail section to help minimize erosion. When all was said and done, we helped build a trail that will be there for years to come as a point of pride to say that we helped.
After the work came the important stuff: some folks decided to go check out the bridge, others hung around camp and relaxed after the rough trail work, others still decided to go check out the local agritourism sites...aka breweries. Dinner was, as always, delicious and way more than any one group could safely consume.
All in all, it was a great hang with some great folks! Thanks everyone for coming out! And post pics! Like a dummy, I get caught up in the action and forget to snap more than a few pictures.

Totally agree with the above posts - What a super great group of folks to hang out with across a really great weekend.
I missed all the hard work, and was pursued by multiple women all weekend ( Yeah so.... it was a game of tag, lol) which was very much A TON OF FUN (we laughed and ran for hours!) and even a decent way to burn off a few of the calories from the huge, amazing dinner! Oh And.... I'm NOT it ;-)
Thank you to ALL who were there and a part of it for such a great time, and memories I will treasure,
willin'
Thanks to everyone this weekend for a wonderful time! You all made such an impression on Will - he had a great time and wants to attend more hangs in the future Will post some pics soon.
