the only dif? I weight 130 lbs. I see a lot of folks have the doubles. If my intention is to save weight, wouldn't I want to go single. I will probably go with the Yeti uq. Enlighten me
thanks

It sounds like you have it figured out. The double layer serves the two purposes of increasing the weight limit and allowing you to use a pad between the layers. If neither of those uses applies to you, then the single will be great.

I bought the Double layer just to put a pad in the bottom. The weight limit for the single would have held me just fine but wanted the 1.1 Double!

my 270lbs needed a 1.7 double, so i ordered that not even thinking about insulation under me. was kinda a bonus
i do not remember the question, however i believe beer is the answer
I have the 1.9 single layer to hold up to 350 pds. If I had gone with the 1.1 and doubled it, it have the disadvantage of being more weight, with the only advantage being a place to put a pad.
We are of similar body weight. Use the 1.1 single. Nice flat lay. Picked up a Winter Yeti (WY), but have only test hung in basement. WY like most differential cut uq is quick & easy to suspend properly. Like the asymmetrically shape for shoulder coverage when sleeping diagonally. Prefer uq to pads so the dl pocket was not really needed. The torso pad that I do use occasionally stays put without crinkles fine in the hammock.
Consider the rope suspension and switch over to whoppies for a convient light weight set up.

I thought another reason for using a double layer was so mosquitos couldn't penetrate 2 layers?
