    Couple of last minute notes:

If traveling from the south, there's a stretch of road that connects 66 with 666 called Blue Jay Creek Rd. In the past, this road has been frequently closed due to bridge repair/storm damage/etc, requiring a lengthy and inconvenient detour north on 948 towards Sheffield before doubling back south on 666. I'm not anticipating it being closed this weekend, but it's something to be aware of when planning your route.

Regarding firewood, I'll be bringing at least one saw for scavenging what we can as well as a wagon that can be used to haul wood in from the parking lot. ANF has a pretty strict rule against bringing in wood from outside of the forest (kiln-dried stuff is ok), but there are several locations around where wood can be purchased relatively cheaply. If everyone was able to pick up a bundle or two and/or pitch in $5 or so towards that end, we should be able to amass a decent stockpile.

Cell service in the area is pretty much non-existent. The closest town is Sheffield, which is about a 20 minute drive. There's a couple decent restaurants, a Tops grocery store, a surprisingly good beer distributor, and an excellent convenience store called the Pitstop. I know Verizon at least gets reception in town as well.

I honestly don't know whether I'm more excited to see everyone or by the prospect of getting 3 nights of solid sleep in my hammock.
Can't wait. I got 70% off my stuff gathered. I know I'll be busy tomorrow morning getting everything else ready including the kayak. Im excited. Finally get the chance to hang in my hammock. I can stop and pick up some firewood. Not sure what time I'll get there tomorrow.

I reserved transportation for the kayak online and got a confirmation email. I guess I’m that other guy, but now it looks like we split the $30 three ways.

I made lentil stew (vegetarian) to share and I will also bring sausages (to make your stew non-vegetarian if you want ).

I’m dual citizen, American and Dutch. And I have a Dutch accent. Does that help make it international?

That worked out well: I’m not bringing my kayak, but the Outfitters will rent me one. Nice.

Sorry guys I wont be able to make it. I hurt my back again so I have to take care of that right now. It is a shame I was really looking forward to this weekend hanging in the trees.

All packed up! Just waiting on the wife to finish a couple things up for work, then we'll hit the road. Looking to roll in sometime around 3pm. If no one else has arrived yet, I suppose I'll be forced to take a mid-afternoon nap.

What a shame! Get yourself healed up, and we'll catch you at the next one.
