Made a couple of precut silpoly tarps from RSBTR that were easy to build. Made one from 8 yards of fabric. Precut was so much easier.

HanginInStyle, maybe if you make a hammock 11 feet long by 6 feet wide, you might notice increased comfort.
With an 11 foot hammock, you will want a tarp with Minimum ridgeline of 11 feet, with doors to keep you more dry. You might even want a tarp with a 12 foot ridgeline and doors.
You might need to seam seal ridgeline seam and any pullout tabs if you make pullout tabs.
Keeping afore mention of frugality, choose counterintuitive purchase of down underquilt and topquilt from reputable cottage vendors. Chances of costly errors on first do it yourself underquilt are high—easily driving your cost above buying your quilts.
