    A Rare Miss?

So I just got my 1.7 netless that Dutch has on ridiculous sale for $30.
Gotta say I'm disappointed...maybe. Not sure if I got a bum one or if I'm just expecting too much for a $30 hammock.

Has a couple of holes, what seems to be a snag in the fiber and a spot or two where it just ain't right.

Please let me be clear...I just emailed Dutch sales moments ago and I HAVE NO DOUBT THEY WILL MAKE IT RIGHT. They just haven't had a chance to respond to my email. I have zero doubt this awesome company will make it right.

Really my point for posting is that I've been a Dutch fan boy for years and this is the first time I haven't been blow away by one of his products and, like I said...am I expecting too much for a $30 hammock? I went from an ENO double as my first hammock to a Chameleon so I don't have a lot of experience with casual hammocks. Is this SOP for super affordable hammocks or did I just get a bum one?

Do not worry, he will replaced it. Just contact him. It's not necessary to post it here.

Thank you. I appreciate the advice. I know he will, he's great people. Sorry I wasn't clear. That is why I said I have no doubt he'll make it right in my OP. My question though was am I asking too much from a crazy affordable hammock.

Yes, that's what I was wondering. Our mail person is....well he's one of God's special creatures. The envelope it came in was quite road weary.

We don't change standards for a sale. We will get a replacement right out to you. Something snagged that and pulled on a thread. The easy fix is a new hammock. We seen worse from mail delivery.

Thanks, Dutch. As always you're a gentleman and all around righteous dude. At no point was this ever a question about you or your company.

Is the 1.7 a more vulnerable fabric compared to others? I know in a lot of lighter gear the trade off for weight is durability. Forgive an ignorant question, I fully admit I don't know all that much about fabrics.

Good thread title, "A rare miss." This looks like a fluke. Flukes are part of life (variation of Murphy's law). Repetitive, systemic problems are the result of someone not having the ability or desire to fix things. But, no matter how diligent one is, flukes happen. Hey, that should be a bumper sticker! LOL

Whatever hit that landed right on the ripstop and it pulled it. I don't think it is more likely to get pulls.
