Came here to say the exact same thing!

Do you normally see some loosening in the shock cord when it's brand new? That's what it looks like happened to me, the primary suspension loosened during the night.

Shug's video was super helpful. Thought I had it down but I guess I have some adjusting to do still.

You shouldn't expect much loss of elasticity from the shock cord in one night. It's quality stuff, not cheapo shock cord like you might find on cat toys or something.

When you adjust it throw a half hitch on the shock cord to prevent slippage

It's also possible I didn't check the hang of the underquilt as closely as I thought I did. I'll do better next time.

One of the best/easiest things to do is put your hand between the UQ and hammock...hopefully you can feel the UQ is snug against your butt. And depending on how flexible you are, you can reach up towards your back or down towards legs (without changing your lay) to determine if there are any gaps there.

Yeah, if you adjusted the primary suspension at all, and it wasn't left at its loosest, the most likely thing is that the primary suspension shock cord slipped through the adjustment hardware, not that it lost any of its elasticity. You can try the suggestion above about securing it with a half-hitch after adjusting it to your liking.

If you have someone else available, get in the hammock and have them help you adjust it.

Keep me posted if you're seeing any loss in elasticity on the shock cord. It shouldn't lose any elasticity. Like others have said, it's possible to shock cord has loosened in the secondary suspension (the line coming off each corner through the line locs). A half hitch will keep it locked in place if you're noticing slippage.
