I've been using the X-bend retied several times while adjusting my backyard hang, using 1" Dutchware poly tree straps for a couple nights this week. I weigh 250 and nary a slip. The Dutch titanium cinch buckles creep on me more than this knot.
Am unsure what I'm doing wrong with cinch buckles but I'm attaching them to the CL with a lark's head and seating the slides by hand with the strap fed under tension. My first on-the-ground experience came from using carabiners to connect the buckles to the CL (hint: Don't do that, it cants the buckle and the buckle slides *must* be perpendicular to the pulling force.
D'oh!!!).
I tied some Spider Web 2.0 huggers to a continuous loop with the x-bend and it seriously compresses the Spider Web but I detected no creep. Next time I set up the Sparrow I'll use these straps and post.

Any further reports of this knot success?
It's fine. Nothing wrong with it at all. I used for about 7 nights, but have since gone back to a Beckett with a backup knot. Only because it's easier for me to consistently tie.
This knot does come out easier however, esp if you have a helper loop to pull against the knot.
I have completely switched over. I keep my whoopies as backup extensions.
