Dutch has a new customer (a feline)

    Too weird not to post.

My cat always lays next to the keyboard when I am using the computer. I was looking at the new Dutchware Hammock chair and the cat got up, walked across the keyboard and managed to add it to my cart. I told her I wasn't paying for that. She meowed, curled back up and went back to sleep.

So, when it arrived (of course I bought it), I hung it over the bed. I cant keep that stupid cat out of it! She is not declawed and I'm pretty sure it isn't safe any more. I don't see any visible damage but it has GOT to have claw holes all over it. So, now the cat has her own hammock chair and I have to buy a new one. That one is staying in my pack!

Funny. Only if they ordered it would a cat lay in it. It I ordered one and laid my cat in it they would get up and go

I like it. We have 3 cats, all with incredibly sharp claws. I've shared a Dutchware netless in Hexon 1.6 with them quite a few times, and it's still holding up. I will say that it looks a lot better after cat exposure than the Wise Owl (Eno clone) parachute nylon hammock we've let the cats go in. That one being a plain taffeta fabric, the claw holes are very noticeable. Even that still supports my weight though. But better safe than sorry when you're taking it out on the trail. All the hammocks I mentioned never leave the house.

Best excuse ever. LOL!!! Cats are remarkably conservative with their claws. There is a good chance there isn't any damage if she can get in and out without need to "grip" anything.

If you are really concerned or just want to know- you can hold the hammock up to a bright lite, and any pinholes/ flaws will be instantly visable. And as XJ35S said -cats are very conservative with claw usage- unless they are in a sharpening/ cleaning mode.

Thanks for the bright light reminder. I see a couple holes but no idea if it is safe. I'm gonna hang it just over my bed and try to lay in it and giggle around to see it it gives at all.
