    DCF needle and thread

I ordered some DCF DIY dry bags from Ripstop by the Roll. This will be my first time working with DCF. What needle and thread is recommend?

    Thanks in advance.

I would use a nylon or polyester thread, not sure the needle matters so much if it is sharp and new.

    Here is their instruction video:

Mara 70 and a sharp #14 needle will do just fine

Thanks! I bought some Mara 70 this morning in a few different colors. Glad to have some confirmation on it now.

Why not use tape? If you sew they won’t be waterproof.

You tape over the seams after sewing.

I've done a bunch of flat, boxed and round bottom sacks in DCF..

Most were taped, but the round bottom bags were sewn and tape sealed. Mara 70 and a new standard needle (no different than what I use for silpoly).

Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....
