I was in Wal-Mart picking up some oil for my car because the light had blinked on as I left work. The car burns oil so I figured I should pick some up. After grabbing my oil I headed towards the food section to grab some munchies. This takes me directly past the fabric section. As I walked past, an older woman knocked over some fabric while she was looking through. I reached down to pick it up for her and realized I held ripstop nylon in my hand. This is the same store that told me they had never had ripstop of any kind. I bought all that was left (5 yds.). I came home and weighed it at 9.9 oz. A quick measurement put it at 64" wide, so it seems to be the 1.1 oz. variety. I'm small enough that this might work for a hammock, but I'd rather be safe with 1.9 oz. That leaves my other two projects, a quilt and an underquilt. I'm thinking I'll make a quilt first so that I can get away from my bag (what a pain to use it in the hammock). My RidgeRest is less of a problem than the bag at the moment. Does anyone have any directions for a synthetic quilt? I've seen some, but I was wondering there was one that held in high regard other than Jardine's.
