I prefer the full because I find that I need my sit pad underneath my tailbone to prevent cold butt syndrome (I'm a cold sleeper.)

    Shug said it all.
My 3/4 UQ just fits better and is simpler to use than my full length.
I'm 5'9" and my 58" long 3/4 UQ covers shoulders to ankles.
A big plus is summer use. On warm nights just slide it off to the side and the hammock (convection) will provide some cooling. Then during the early hours cooldown, just slide it back under you.

As noted above, weight and bulk, yes. And since I'm only 5'9" the AHE Jarbidge gives me coverage from neck to ankles. I've taken to carrying insulated booties for my feet and so far, so good.

Using 3/4 quilts, my feet stay warm with no pad down to 30* F. Anything below that, I'll use a full length quilt.

I'm in the process of making a DIY UQ and TQ using the Costco down throws. Many instructions call for hacking off bits of the throws to make them smaller. I don't want to do that and then regret it! Please help me understand.

There is a guy named BillyBob who will eventually show up in this thread to explain the beauty of the partial UQ.

Myself....i have never slept in anything but the partial UQ.

More specifically...the Greylocks and the Yeti.

My chariot awaits.....Greylock 4 stays on the line these days.

I see/feel little difference in the Greylock 3+1 ounce and the Greylock 4.

Its not my feet that are the issue if I get cold.

It's the mid to upper back if I don't have UQ cinched correctly.

Keep in mind...you are in Canada and I am in TN.

My temp ranges are 20°-50° in the winter.

Wait what?! 20F to 50 F in the winter. That's about -6C to 10C. 10C is our average low for June! The other day it was -52C with windchill. That's -62F! I am so living in the wrong place!

So for the 3/4 UQ, what suspension system is the best? is the clew system any good? What about the spandex idea I saw in another thread?

I think good ol' 1/8" shock cord is good for the primary suspension. I'd use 3/32" for the secondary suspension and end channels.

The new Greylocks come ready to go out of the box. The older versions I used Triangle Thingies.
