Yep, Jeff has a bunch of great videos and Evo loops look like a good hardware replacement. Will have to give them a shot

I love them!!! Easy to use, versatile, light weight.
My worst night in a hammock was still better than my best night in a tent!!!!

I looked at the spider daisy chain webbing to use with the Mantis and spliced CL, but at $2/ft, that’s $48 in just straps for two lengths of 12’ and I can’t use it with the spreader bar to camp with one of my young kiddos. I looked at whoopie slings and double hammock hooks, but there were more components/pieces than a strap with a sewn on Dutch clip and beetle buckles that never come off the straps. Being new, I wanted simple. Can’t get much simpler than wrap around the tree for each strap, hook hammock CL onto buckle, pull out of stuff sack as you walk tonthe other strap and hook up.

Well said. I've been curious about the weight savings/simplicity of switching to Venom straps from RSBTR and using a Becket hitch/J-bend directly to the hammock CLs, but it seems I'm just used to the buckles. Plus I like using Dutch's hardware!

Being a plus sized hanger, ive always had issues with webbing suspensions. But ive recently heard the Warbonnet buckles are easier on webbing. May have to givem a try.

I went from daisy chain to whoopies to Wildhorn LiteSpeed cinch buckles (great but a bit heavy and bulky) to strap-Amsteel-Loop Alien combo. I wound up going back to cinch buckles, and that is where I will remain. This time, though, I bought lightweight poly straps and Warbonnet aluminum cinch buckles plus Evo Loops for about $23 from Jeff Myers. I'm well satisfied. Not sure what the current price is, though.

In case you do not already know, the Evo Loops in this system are a hardwareless way to connect the straps to trees that Jeff came up with. As convenient as carabiners but much, much lighter.
