Question a little HH expedition change or two

I believe i might like a longer ridgeline on my HH would any problems arise if i were to...snip...the factory one back to the loops and replace it with my own cord and a figure 9 to adjust until i find what i like?

There are several threads which deal with adjustable ridge lines. Be aware that small increments can make big differences. Go easy on the changes. Even as little as a half inch would make comfort changes in my home sleeper (now retired).
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

thanks a bunch; you guys just saved me the snipping.. the factory loops were just large enough that i could let them out...i knew it would make a difference but i didn't realize it was the difference between a cricked neck or not

the net is a specific length, the length of the ridgeline reflects that. if they were to lengthen the ridgeline for a new model, they'd adjust the length of the net as well.

it will stretch plenty, but it may effect how the net lays (since it's being stretched lengthwise)

So, is it more comfortable with the longer RL? I have pulled my Explorer UL RL really tight before (longer) and it had decidedly decreased comfort. This has happened in the past when I got over zealous with a Hitchcraft(?) device, or cinch buckles. But the other day, I was using mine, which I have put the stock suspension ropes back on it, with the tree huggers. I was very surprised to see that I was still able to overtighten it with the stock set up. I loosened it a couple of inches and it was much more comfortable.
