Unless you are really a wide body you'll find the Ridgerunner more comfortable. None of that squeezing, sliding, blocked views, etc. I absolutely hate to backpack with my Ridgerunner due to the weight but I always take it as it's so comfortable and that's important when you need your rest.

Spend some time lounging in it. Watch a movie, check emails, whatever. Its takes a bit to adjust to where and how to lay in a hammock.
I became so much more comfortable in mine after I made my indoor hang spot. I was able to spend so much more time in it, from naps to TV to hanging with the kids/dogs

I agree - I set mine up for casual use initially, then partial night's sleep, now full night's sleep. It's such a different experience I did not rest well until I settled into the newness of it all.

I bought a bridge hammock initially. Flopped and tossed and turned side to side all night. Found it too narrow for fetal position side sleeping. I switched to a gathered end a month ago, was fine in fetal position side sleeping, but now that I'm used to it I sleep on my back all night and, oddly enough, compared to the bridge I feel less confined.

When my topquilt comes in I will give it another shot. I will probably take my Tag camper with me, so if I can't get comfortable I have a place to retreat to.

You can always use you sleeping bag in "top quilt mode" by zipping it up 1/3 from the bottom and rotating it 90° so the zipper is on the bottom. Then you have a footbox, and the rest just drapes over you. Much easier to manage than having to get in and out the traditional way.

I tried that, but my sleeping bag is really tappered at the bottom and the head end has the hood which just got in my face. I will give it another shot when my topquilt comes in.
I'm trying to get this worked out before my trip to Dolly Sods in May.

Update: Bought a RR and found my comfort zone! The RR worked great with my Mountain Fly tarp and I had a great nights sleep.

Not sure what do to with my BB?

I am a pretty restless sleeper and I just couldn't take the confined feeling.
The gathered end hammock(Blackbird) is not going to work for me.
I'm not quitting, going to sell it and try a Ridge Runner.

I have the same problem with GE just cant quite get that deep sleep and constantly waking up. I have bought a gently used RR from a member here I am going to try out. If that doesnt work Im back on the ground.
