I’ll be flying solo this weekend so I can bring some extea gear.

If you still need, I can bring a spare tarp, Snugpak cocoon, possibly a spare UQ...

There's a lot of excitement around the weather taking a turn for the better on Saturday. Yay! I'm stoked.

I'm also stoked about sharing more raffle prizes. Here's one (of the two I have to share today) from

    Jacks R Better
    www.jacksrbetter.com
    www.facebook.com/jacksrbetterquilts/
    www.instagram.com/jacks_r_better_quilts/

I didn't have time to take photos of it as I've been super busy, but https://hikinginfinland.com did a great feature on it and the photos are primo (thanks Hendrik Morkel). The owners of Jacks R Better are such awesome people and have a great passion for MAHHA (their company feature from Fall of last year explains why). They really wish they could come to this hang as they live to mingle among like-hearted people, however they are gearing up for Trail Days and need to catch up on some work prior to going. In the meantime, this cottage vendor is still creating excellent outdoor products, MADE in the USA. <3 Thank you Don and Dave!!!

Jacks R Better family send their love with a donation of a $269.00 High Sierra Sniveller with 800+ fill power, Activ-Dri Down. There have been some nights on trail that this quilt would have come in REAL handy. High winds and bone chilling temperatures have nothing on this quilt. You'll stay toasty warm (stats below photos) and will cut any winter chills if you are the lucky winner. Thank you gentlemen for your heart in raising money for Trail-related organizations! See you at Trail Days!

    High Sierra Sniveller Wear.jpg

Conservatively rated to 0ºF (-17.777ºC) the Sierra Sniveller was designed with the ground sleeper in mind. It is wider (52 inches) at the shoulders and down through the hips to eliminate drafts, and tapers to 42 inches at the foot end. Six lacing tabs have been added to the sides to secure the quilt around a pad if desired. Form the foot box and use as a top quilt or wear as a serape using the non-snagging, mixed hook & loop resealable head-hole.

    Regular Size
    Length: 78 inches (1.98 m)
    Width: 48 inches (1.22 m)
    Weight: 28 ounces (0.82 kg)

    Three cheers for JRB!!!!

2019 Spring MAHHA May 3-5th Official Planning Thread

For our final Cottage Vendor Spotlight, we present:

    Forty Below
    https://40below.com/
    www.instagram.com/fortybelowltd/?hl=en

Forty Below, who? If you're like me, this cottage vendor was unfamiliar, but if you jump on their website and click around, you'll find Mountaineering AND... "Brewing Products"??!! That's right. Recipes and products for expedition BREWING are available on their website. I was on the phone with the owner for quite some time a couple weeks ago talking about Forty Below and what they do for the adventure community. Joel has such a cool vibe. You will love their site not just for the cold weather clothing, overboots, and ways to keep your drinks warm, but also for their how-to articles like this one:

    https://40below.com/pee-bottles-how-...-fricken-cold/

    or this one:
    https://40below.com/tips-for-keeping-your-feet-warm/

These guys are so chill (no pun intended) and down to earth. You'll understand that vibe when you read their articles as well as pick up some sweet tips along the way. Thank you, Joel, for the donation of $182 worth of product!! You and your company completely ROCK!!

    Their donation includes:
    Forty Below Bandannas x 10
Forty Below Deluxe Bottle Boot 1 liter with cold weather bottle (super sweet velcro closure on the insulation and large bottle twist-top to use while wearing gloves)
Forty Below Tent Floor Closed Cell Foam 1/8" x 40" x 80" (perfect for hammock insulation)
Forty Below Short Sleeve Logo T-shirts x 3 with different sizes
Forty Below Can Boot 12 oz
Forty Below Zip-O-Gage Thermometer on a zipper ring x 5

We appreciate linking arms and getting the word out about this company. Many of us brave sub freezing temperatures while backpacking and I, for one, really look forward to buying/using their Mountain and Brewing Products!

Three warm CHEERS for Forty Below!!

I never understand when or why I can’t sign up for some of these hangs. Sometimes no problem other times no chance. Anyway. I am coming. Just not on the list.
