    Catch-all sack at a discount...

In case no one’s seen it, there’s a hybrid catch-all sack prototype on SLD’s website for cheap!

I really dig mine, in case it wasn’t obvious by the thread I created.

I see Jared now offers a vented sil version with a narrow mesh strip running the full length. Anyone try one yet?

I made a DIY version out of sil (last of my remnants) and it is super nice for set up and take down, but it is definitely a bit of a wrestling match to get the air out of the quilts once they are captured in the sil tube. I may just have to order one of these vented versions, but I wonder if a narrow strip of mesh is enough? I would really like a version that is half or maybe 2/3rds sil, and the rest mesh. That way if I lay it on the wet ground it’s still protected, but should be a lot easier to compress the quilts.

I have one. Fits my Trail Lair with winter cover 20 degree quilt set and pillow without much struggle.

The one I linked to in the original post--since purchased by someone, or removed--was 5' of sil, 5' of mesh. It was the first iteration of the "vented" sil catch-all sack that Jared made custom for me. Shortly after that, he came out with the full-length vent, which serves the purpose of allowing air out while better protecting your gear from moisture. It's not 100% waterproof, of course, but you can lay it on the ground with the mesh strip up without any worry about dew or crud getting on your hammock.

Thanks...I saw that thread after I put up this post. The new vented version does look pretty sweet!
