I plan on starting out from the main trail head at the northern point, DCNR District Forestry Office Denton Hill, route 6, East of Coudersport, PA. There is a long term parking area for folks on the trail for several days. No problem leaving a vehicle there. They keep an eye on the vehicles, also there is a State Police barrack next door that is a detterent to all but black bears .

Vacation is approved and the date is getting close. Really looking forward to being out on the trail for a week. Anyone interested in the STS loop hike just let me know.

Still getting a bit of frost in the morning and the leaves are not quite out on the hardwoods. Apple trees behind the barn still have not bloomed. No bugs yet to speak of and just great hiking weather rain or shine.
