And if you use a Top Cover it will be much warmer in the enclosed Hammock than outside.

is what is being suggested hanging the boots from the end of the hammock in the hammock but not as low as your feet? this would be espeshaly good with a top cover and full length uq.

Inside the hammock inside a bag. On the headend, some are using bags to hold gear - readily handy.

i guess i was hoping i'd read that someone else does what i do. maybe not! i wear light trail runners that'll dry out pretty easily. if they get wet enough to freeze it is usually in rain or snow and i can get them really clean. last week in PA i got up for a pee run and noticed my trail runners were frozen solid, so i put them on top of me on my frogg togg pants, just below my waist, while sleeping on my back inside my sleeping bag. my body heat dried them out and the sleeping bag stayed dry, too. next night i kept em there all the time. the problem with a bag is they won't freeze, but they won't dry either.

I also wear trail runners and i'm afraid of the moisture from my wet shoes soaking into my down bag and lose it's loft. I don't mind wet shoes as long as they aren't frozen. They do seem to dry right quick the next day.

i always have said the best way to dry something isn't to put it by the fire but to where it.

I have never slept with my boots. I just open them as wide as I can ... loosen the laces and in the morn just cram my feet in and they warm up quickly enough if I am camp choring........
