Anyone going to the Canoeing Symposium passing through TO?

just curious.... if ice isn't out by the 10th, the following weekend is the long weekend. Are we thinking about going then?
A lotta ins... lotta outs... lotta what-have-you's
Hiya,
Once again we're facing the aftermath of what was apparently a fairly cold winter up north, although to be honest, it felt pretty mild to me here in Toronto.
Indeed, the topic did come up this weekend. The plan depends completely on when the ice goes out and where, and all indications are that the route to Chicamoula will still be blocked come the 10th.
If that's the case, and other lakes have opened up elsewhere in the park, then one option would be to simply shift our destination.
Alternatively, we could shift our dates, a problem for some and a boon for others.
Let's keep a close eye on the Park reports and make a decision one way or another in early May.

I think I still can go if it’s either weekend although to be honest the weekend of the 10th is Mother’s Day weekend-a fact my wife casually pointed out.

All that rain & warm temps the coming week are teasing out a teensy weensy bit of optimism. Happy Easter everybody!

I had my first BBQ of the season yesterday. Hopefully yesterday's warm weather is a sign of warmer days to come. I remember one Spring trip where there was still ice 3 or 4 days before our arrival and we were lucky enough the ice melted in time so I remain optimistic about the planned date.
