I was thinking of the same class repeated four times, not that everyone would need to attend all classes. You would only need to do it one time. I was only thinking of doing it several locations because it would allow more people to participate.

would there any kind of a certification process like an evaluatio nof knowledge after instruction or is this just something that we're doing for general knowledge?
I was thinking of an actual certification class, if it will be possible to do. There are lots of different types of classes offered ranging from 1 month to 8 hours. I'm doing some research right now on who/how to get a class together that would last 2-4 days.

I'd go for Wilderness First Aid, but the Wilderness First Responder is too long, too expensive and is "overkill" for my goals.

I'm not knocking the WFR program, only that it seems to be more than I need/want.

Wilderness First Aid is about 16 hours. I think that will be plenty for a weekend hang. I'm working on getting the certification to teach that class. It is a small step up from the CPR-AED-FirstAid that I already teach, so it won't be difficult.

    WFA - Scout Leaders

BSA is now requiring a WFA trained adult on 'high adventure' type trips. I am attending a course this weekend in Central OH

If it works out that you have a Wilderness First Aid class on a weekend, in NC, I would like to do that.

hey warmsoda, I would definately be interested in the course. I could probably get a couple more people depending on time frame.

I used to be an Instructor Trainer for the ARC in Florida. I haven't taught, much less trained instructors, since about 2005. I'd be willing to go back through the program to get my instructor certs up to date if there are enough people in the Colorado area that would be interested in it.
    Trust nobody!
