Amok Draumr XL, first hang video

Got mine delivered today so I spent lunch setting it up. I previously own a couple v2īs but couldnīt resist the improved and enlarged new version. Not sure how to break the news to the wife though...
Anyway, a not very professional video of the very first hang.
Oh, I didnīt have time to setup the tarp, so maybe another video of that?

It's better if you open it on YT so you can full screen it, you savage.

Thanks for the up-close look at your setup, Tord. I do like it in that orange, too.

    Thank Tord

You are the first person I have seen who has hooked the shock cord to the ridgeline and not the footbox

Haha Tikker, I know, but using it with one hand itīs a struggle sometimes to get the proper framing of what I want to capture. Since I donīt get the distance needed sometimes I have to use the phone standing.
Mark, yeah Iīve since seen that it "should" go over the ridgeline and down to a small ring at the foot end? Honestly the space inside was so big that I didnīt really experience an issue with it attached to the line, at least not when using a bendy-stick to raise the footbox wall. Actually, connected to the ridgeline itīs out of the way when entering/exiting the hammock, but Iīm pretty sure either way works just fine.

    Nice video,
I set mine up over the weekend and noticed the cord that is stored in the little sack by your head is long enough to go all the way over the ridgeline and there is a clip at your feet you can connect it with.
Does an impressive job of keeping the netting up and off your legs too!

Edit: I see you've been made aware of this already.

    Happy Hanging!

Yep. Just watched your Borg video as well. I can already tell suspensions and tarps are going to be my hammocking "sweet spot" (where manufacturers get most of my $) because I want both the Borg and a WB Super Fly. The more of your videos I see, the more I want my next Amok in that orange. I am thinking about selling some things to get the scratch I need to start this tarp and Titanium collection...

One cool thing about the Borg is that everything you need to pitch it is included. The tarp has linelocs attached for adjusting tension at the ridgeline and all 6 guyout points. There are mini-carabiners for securing the ridgeline after going 'round the trees. Cordage is all included as well, and it comes with some pretty nice aluminum mini Y stakes that fit into a velcro pouch integrated into the tarp stuff sack.

There are even little loops of shock cord tied to each lineloc that allow you to roll up and secure each piece of cordage.
