As for the bugs, they are more likely than not to be miserable. I'd advise bringing permethrin-treated clothing and hat, insect shield buff, maybe even a bug net that goes over your head, although I find them miserable in warm weather.

Classic Accessories Madison Trout Unlimited inflatable pontoon - I have two of these.

They're fun to row around short distances and make a good platform for pan fishing. On windy days, though, it can be a trial to get anywhere and stay there. If it's windy at the boat-in, I may need a tow from a motorized watercraft to get to the campsites.

as well as trail. Thommy Thompson State park is situated in beautiful north central Wisconsin on the Peshtigo Flowage. The park is home to many trails and a great fishing habitat. A state park pass will be needed for parking which is allowed at the boat landing regardless of wether you have your own boat or not. I have 2 viper kayaks I can bring with if anyone has interest in paddling for the weekend. I already have a way to get my stuff and doc to the site....thanks franklin! But can bring the yaks if some people want to play around..... BUT YOU NEED YOUR OWN LIFEVEST

Unfortunately, there are now five spots left. I was recently informed that we have company coming to visit that weekend so I won't be able to get away. Yes, I did mull the idea to bring the "company" along, but that brainstorm got vetoed.
