HG Econ incubator with DW Chameleon wide

Hello everyone. Fairly new to UQís, I have a few cheap amazon ones that work fine here in Florida, but Iím looking to upgrade to an incubator from HG. My only concern is that I use a wide chameleon (even though I donít need it, Iím only 5í9Ē). I was wondering if the width would be a problem. Sorry if this has been asked before. I browsed through the search feature and found some useful information but I thought it would be best to ask outright, in the hopes that I might get more feedback. Iím just going to go with the Econ because it will probably only see 5 nights of use per year. Iím really hoping to find something inexpensive enough to balance out with the infrequent use, but still fit nice and snug enough just in case I take it out of town someday or we get a freak colder than usual winter one of these years. I sleep diagonal head left in case that makes a difference.

Thank you in advance, this place is a gold mine of valuable advice and information, given all the knowledge and experience you guys have!

It will work perfectly fine. You shouldn't even have to adjust anything for the width issue.

I made a DIY Hexon wide hammock and my UQ's (three different HG models) work as well as with my standard-width hammocks. Zero issue.

Oh and YES....it's TOO HOT in FL!

I will definitely! I think lead times are 5ish weeks, and it’ll probably be a few weeks until I order it, but I’ll definitely be back with pictures and a brief write up in case anyone else with a wide chameleon is looking for info later on like i was.

    Thanks again buddy!
    Peace

I’ve got a wide Chameleon and an Econ Incubator. I’m shorter than you - around 5’ 5”.... The only issue I’ve had with getting the Incubator adjusted correctly is that I’m more of a side/fetal position sleeper so the leg shelf on the Incubator will sometimes give me cool spots on my legs. When I manage to sleep on my back I don’t that problem.

That is super useful! I am about half and half, depending on the night and how tired I am. I’ll sleep mostly on my back but at least one out of 3 nights I end up going fetal for at least an hour or so when it gets close to sunrise. Thank you for this info!!

    BB,

You cant go wrong with the Hammock Gear Econ Series. They are very well made and will last a long, long time no matter how hard you end up using them.

    Enjoy.
