*New* Loop Shackles from Autumn Ultralight

Hello everyone, Anne Marie from Autumn Ultralight, I wanted to share something new with you that I am working on.

These are a combination of a continuous loop and a soft shackle. They larkshead right through the channel of your hammock and allow you to directly connect your hammock to daisy chain webbing.

The design was shown to me by a fellow splicer named Fred Trimble and I made some modifications to the design to make it a true soft shackle.

I need to do some more testing with them but these are working really well so far.

Keep an eye out, these will be up on my website soon. http://www.autumnultralight.com

    These I like!
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

Me too! I don't use use daisy chain webbing but this new offering from Ann Marie makes me want to give it a try. I've used whoopies forever, tried and failed with spiders and speed hooks, spent a few nights using cinch buckles and always end up back with whoopies.

    Hmmmm.

I bounce back and forth between tree straps becket hitched directly to my continuous loops and the old Hammock Fan Strap Anchors. I use whoopie slings once in a while though.

    Neat splicing work.

Could the same thing be achieved with an improved soft-shackle larks-headed through the channel? The knot on the improved soft shackle is stronger than the button knot, and the improved soft shackle is a single piece of dyneema. It would seem a stronger and simpler concept overall.

(I'm a big fan of the improved soft-shackle.)
