Hi Guys,

Firstly I should state that I'm a complete noob to building hammocks but am VERY keen on getting into it!

I'm currently trying to find some cheap but decent lightweight material for my hammock. I've decided to try and source the fabric outside of New Zealand (home) because I think I can get it cheaper.

I've found this lightweight parachute ripstop nylon for dirt cheap but am unsure whether or not it would hold me. I weigh about 73kg or 160 pounds

I'm thinking that I will probably do a double layer so I can stuff a pad inside. I'm thinking that with the two layers it might be enough to hold me..

What do you guys think?? If it's a bad idea can you recommend any places where I can get some good cheap material?

Thanks!
Zac
