I think my guyline lengths are too long?

I keep my lines on my stakes. I have stakes with 6' lines and 4' lines.

I use the 6' lines for the "front" in porch mode. If there's weather, though, my tarp is low and I don't need more than a foot to get from tarp to ground. That leaves a lot of excess.

I usually use Lawson Bar Tensioners and all I do is tie a quick knot in the line to shorten things up. Or I'm using tautline hitches which work good too.
