New synthetic UP Quilts now available at Dutchware

I am very proud to offer ready to ship UP Underquilts by Cedar Ridge Outdoors. One huge advantage to using UP rather than sheet insulation for an underquilt is it bends, twists and conforms much better. Up acts like down but it is perfect for those who can't or prefer not to use down quilts. As an added benefit it comes in at an excellent price of $135 for a 20 degree full length quilt. Although nothing beats really high fill power down for weight to insulation ratio, the 20 degree full length underrquilt comes in at only 760 grams or 1.67 pounds.

Grabbed one for my kit also. Looking forward to using this on trip to ND.

That compression comparison is super helpful!

Wish we could see more of that type of thing from our vendors.

Crazytown3, that's what I was thinking. On my motorcycle I don't care much about the weight, but if I can get reasonably close to a down-stuffed packed size? Woo hoo!

Just got this in the mail. Workmanship is wonderful. Feels very much along the lines of my down quilts. Compression feels definitely along lines of a 650-700 fill down. This is compared to my 20F econ HG phoenix, and my 40F econ incubator.

Here it is stuffed in the sack without extra compression from that. Have compressed it to about half the volume of that.

@momor: Could you post a pic comparing the compressed size of the UP to your other two HG econ quilts? Thanks!

Ok so here they are. I did not have a compression bag handy. So first few are compressed all the way down and held that way with string. The last picture will be them in there shipped stuff sacks with no added compression.

This is comparison to 20F HG Econ Phoenix

This is comparison to 40F HG Econ Incubator

This is the CRO, Incubator, and then Phoenix in shipped stuff sack (no further compression)

And all these of course next to a bottle of Shiner
