    I love knots

David Hughes Phantom Grappler Recommended Ties part 1 and part 2
Most of my favorite hammock camping knots are simple and most have the following qualities
    Easy to tie
    Quick release
    Non jamming
    Exploding-entire knot disappears when yank
Can be tied in middle of rope or strap—no need to fish end through for each step of tie
If tied and tightened correctly—unlikely to fail during hammock camping
Yeah... You guys should visit David's youtube channel. ^^^^

Truth told, it was the grapplers hitch and the carolina red suspension that are responsible for moving me away from hardware.

    Awesome..
You'll have a good time with these guys. Jolly and Matchstick are real knowledgable. Jolly did a NOBO AT thru attempt a few years ago and got about three quarters of it done.

We will catch up for a Harriman trip for sure.

We'll be doing the Laurel Highlands Trail that weekend... June 1st.

Sounds awesome Coldfeet. Enjoy. I would like to join also, but I work every other weekend (Sat. Till 1:00) and unfortunate for me, it falls that weekend.

It shouldn't be too hard to coordinate a hike for a smaller group of HF-ers in Harriman. We've got a nice little group represented here from downstate and LI.

However, I've got the PA trip upcoming and then a wedding in Mexico to attend in early June followed by another commitment so it'll be late June before I can participate in a HF weekend.

Sounds like you have a full plate ahead of you, which is wonderful to have. Enjoy and gods speed. I’m heading out early Sunday morning to my breakfast spot in Harriman, since it’s the first Sunday in awhile that’s not pouring down rain. So till later....
