    Tensa solo Ridgerunner combo

Anyone have any experience with a ridgerunner suspended from a Tensa solo stand?

I have both, but have never tried them together. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work though.

works fine. Even with a tarp. I almost like the solo more than the Tensa 4. So much less stuff. And works better with the ridgerunner.

$80 for two poles is kinda expensive. I already have two heavy Kelty tarp poles. Has anyone used these tarp poles as a Tensa solo? I've used bamboo poles, which are probably not as strong as the keltys.bamboozled_img_20120923_081042_original.jpg

I have those Kelty poles too, and I think they're a little thinner wall thickness than the Tensa poles. I have no idea what alloy is used in either.

Believe I've seen photos of people hanging from Kelty poles on the beach, but I think that might have been 2 poles per side.

So, just back from trying out the Kelty poles last night on a full moon kayak beach trek. They worked well. The DIY sand stakes held. I also tried out mule tape for the first time. IMG_20190519_080219917.jpgIMG_20190519_085432364.jpg

Stand looks great. I had some mule tape snap last week. I won't be using it again. Yes, I was using tree huggers around the trees. I've noticed that it frays over time. Bummer, cos I love it otherwise, but won't be using it anymore.

Wouldn't the anchor point pull outs from the top, reduce the bending stress on the pole especially at the sections connect?
