    Hello from Northeast Tennessee

Greetings everyone! I finally took the plunge and joined the forum after being a visitor for a few years. I started backpacking with a hammock about five years ago. My son and I also used this forum for research in preparation for his thru hike on the AT. I mostly hike and backpack on the AT myself and hope to section it all someday. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and love for hammock camping and being in the outdoors! I look forward to participating and sharing in this community.

Welcome from Nashville! I have a daughter who thru-hiked the AT in '04 and got me section-hiking it. I finished in only 14 years! LOL

Welcome to the non-lurking side. You live in a great area to enjoy hanging as a hobby.

Greetings from the state where the trail starts. If your son is posting his hike on Instagram or YouTube, drop a note in here or a photo. Always interested in hammock camping on the AT and want to do more of it myself.
    Cheers.

Thanks for the welcome! Rainman, that's awesome. I would to love to hear more about your section hike of the AT. My son did his in 2015, "Luke Trailwalker" was his name. It was fun to see him accomplish it. I got the chance to hike the first 30 or so miles with him as well as the last 10 up Katahdin. Dang, talk about a tough walk, even with no pack. That is no joke! He did post his journey on Instagram, but has since shut it down, sorry sidneyhornblower. Here a couple pics from his journey though:
