If you are new to the area you can get free digital maps of the area at: Motor Vehicle Use Map. Look for the South Travel Map or the Avenza mobile map.
There are two main ways to enter the campsite from Highway 87.
From the south side you can to turn right onto FR 147 and then immediately left onto FR 147A.
From the north side of the camp you turn onto FR 141. You travel in a little way before turning right onto FR 147A.
The forest roads are well graded. The entrance to the campsite is a little bumpy, but there is no problem coming in a smaller car.
Campsite rules and roadmap available in attachments.
We have happily had dogs each year at the hang each year, but we always get the question.
The Coconino National Forest Policy is;
Generally, dogs (pets), are allowed anywhere in the forest provided they are contained (as in a vehicle or a cage) or leashed at all times.
The Campsite Policies are:
1. Pets must always be contained or on a leash.
2. You must clean up after them and dispose of the waste.
