I'd say you would have to call the manager of that facility for the best correct answer.
Here was the response.
"As long as you are using tree protects while using your hammock, then it doesn't matter to us what size webbing you use to hang your hammock.
If you don't have tree protects, then I would suggest using small sticks in between the tree and your hammock webbing"
Not sure what "Tree Protects" are... I guess I will cram sticks in there to protect the tree. ROFL.
Hiking or car camping? If car camping, maybe buy a pool noodle and cut it in half, then run your tree strap through the noodle. That can be your "tree protect."
I think Derek Hanson talked about this in the Ultimate Hang too. Pieces of a CCF pad were mentioned. Pool noodle is a good idea. Or maybe pipe insulation.
Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't.

I am pretty sure that our straps count, and they are talking about foam or garden hose over regular rope. They aren't talking to the knowledgeable hammocker
Ok, we had a nice time at this camp site. There were tons of people with tarps and hammocks and none had tree protection or 1" straps. All good.
Tons of hammockers and none had 1" straps?? Were they all using rope?
