    Never leave home without one.

I'm pretty sure we all have a ridge line organizer of some kind. A little while back I bought a gear sling from dream hammock. Holy crap I finally got to use it on a trip. It holds so much stuff. And that's not saying I need to keep a bunch of junk in my hammock, but its stuff I didn't really want to leave outside with it possibly going to rain. It will hold clothes power banks phones water bottles you name it. Just thought I would share.

My old suspension used tarp ridgeline as hammock ridgeline—one and the same. It was way high and I did not have a ridgeline organizer
    Current suspension has hammock ridgeline—
Now a ridgeline organizer might be a good idea

The DH Gear Sling is very nice. A 5 dollar upgrade from the stock DH RL organizer.
What doesn't it hold? Its like a hanging closet in the woods. Packs away in my peakbag when empty so I never have to think about bringing it.

    Nice piece of kit Smurfs
    Signature suspended

I just completed a through of the Foothills Trail with some other Forums members and spent a lot of time paring down my gear list of all but the most essential items. I still brought my Dutch gear sling/hammock chair/pack cover even though it weighs about 8 ounces when paired with a lightweight suspension. I used it for all the things you mention above, but it also saved me the weight of a pack cover and was still less than half the weight of my Stansport stool. I loved having all my stuff off the ground and easily accessible at night and on a longer hike like that, the chair came in handy at lunch for an extended break.

Over the years I found I need less and less stuff hanging in the RL organize. At this point I use a peak bag just slightly larger than my iphone.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....
