Hut, some years Yates mornings are 40 degrees and others can be as low as 20 degrees.
A 20* underquilt will probably be great—as long as it’s set good without large air gaps.
Can supplement with extra blankets and or pads

We will have a good forecast about 5 days before Yates. I put the town of Troy NC into weather app for location. Some of our most memorable hangs have had unusual weather—we could have extended Indian Summer or Winter can jump us when we ain’t lookin
Sometimes high-low temperatures are 60 40
And other times 50 30
And other times 50 25 making coffee and bacon our best friends

haha awesome! I will bring extra blankets and/or pads. looking forward to the bacon and coffee. will add this hang to my calendar

I will bring some Hostess snacks for all to enjoy. Roasted Honey Bun on the open fire is great with coffee.

Since Yates is a laid back hang—nothing is required—your participation is appreciated by all.
If weather is good-we might have 35 to 40 attend
And in case of very low temperatures or rain there can be as few as 15 to 20 brave hammock campers.
I’ll get firewood delivered on Thursday afternoon.
There is no water at Yates, and you will need to bring your own water.
Our Nomadic backpacking on Thursday night and another on Friday are optional and you will have other campers with you both at Yates Place and on trail campsites off of Dutchman’s Creek-Uwharrie loop trails.
Kids can bring their Mom and or Dad
Dogs can bring their Mom and or Dad
Tents are welcome
Noobies are always welcome
There might be some OffRoading courtesy of Sandman and others.
There is a local firing range.
Please use all safety precautions with all weapons, and campfires with kids camping amongst us.
Obey all Yates Place rules and regulations. You can look at rules on line.
There will be optional contests with prizes

Two Speed, change should to will have DIY awards. I’m not much of a do it yourselfer, although I have utmost respect and admiration for all DIY. Recently got to backpack camp with Loki and NeedtoknowCallahan—Needtoknow’s DIY skills and enthusiasm run deep

Y’all are free to cooperate amongst yourselves to make a pleasant meal
About 27 hammock creatures have indicated an interest in attending, so far...weather permitting
With exception of my volunteering to have wings (WANGS) and real beef and Tacoma volunteering to bring tasty snacks——NO ONE HAS STEPPED UP and said what they are planning on bringing and or cooking.
You might want to list here what you are planning on doing for Our Saturday Potluck Supper

Part of the fun is interacting with each other and becoming a participant.
I’m open to suggestions, but would prefer Y’all working with Each Other

Happy Face is ok to bring...will you have Happy Face if no one steps up and communicates to work together? If so, that is OK too since Yates is a Laid Back Hang...with no absolute requirements except that you have a good hang

Thanks Shug, I’m doing asbestos I can, undaunted by past suspension fails, new ideas bubble up. Hammock camping is pure fun along with meeting other enthusiastic hammockers who share their ideas, stories over mug o’java

I won't be able to stay for the pot-luck Saturday night but I'll plan on making a breakfast casserole again Saturday morning to share. You know, a "super-healthy" one with hash browns, sausage, bacon, cheese, eggs, peppers, onions....
